Step 01 Project information
Help us identify your project. All fields are optional but recommended.
Project name
Client / Company
Your name & email
Projector model
Installation date
Step 02 Which surface are you projecting onto?
Select the scenario that best matches your setup. The diagram shows the projector's position relative to the target surface.
Wall — vertical offset
Projector higher or lower than target
Wall — horizontal offset
Projector aside, not in front
Floor
Projector mounted above, aimed down
Ceiling
Projector low, aimed up at ceiling
Wall — both offsets
Vertical AND horizontal offset
Step 03 Measurements
Select a scenario above to see the relevant fields. Choose your preferred unit on the right — all values convert automatically.
Position method. Measure the distances from the projector to the centre of the target area (where you want the centre of your image to appear). This is the most reliable method.
Projector and gobo
G
Gobo type / size
F
Image shape (gobo design)
O
Lens / beam total field angle
°
Position measurements
A
Perpendicular distance to the wall
m
B
Vertical offset (projector to target centre)
m
📌 Signs convention for B and C
Use positive (+) or negative (−) values, based on the position of the projector as seen by a viewer standing in front of the surface.
↕ B — Vertical offset
side view
B > 0 → projector higher than target centre · B < 0 → projector lower than target centre
↔ C — Horizontal offset
top view
C > 0 → projector to the right of target centre · C < 0 → projector to the left
💡 Memory tip: the sign is positive when the projector grows in the natural direction (up = +B, right = +C), negative when it goes the other way. Left/right is always seen from the viewer's perspective, not from behind the projector.
Projected image dimensions (on the surface)
How to measure. Project any light pattern (or just a circle) through the projector onto the surface. Measure all four sides as shown.
T
Width of the TOP edge of the image
m
W
Width of the BOTTOM edge of the image
m
L
Height of the LEFT side of the image
m
R
Height of the RIGHT side of the image
m
Step 04 Upload your artwork
Attach the image, logo or design that you want to project. We will pre-distort it according to the measurements you entered, so that it appears perfectly straight on your target surface.
Accepted file formats:
SVG
EPS
AI
PDF
PNG
JPG
TIFF
- Vector formats (SVG, EPS, AI, PDF) are strongly preferred — they scale to any size without loss of quality.
- For raster images (PNG, JPG, TIFF): minimum resolution 2000 × 2000 px, ideally 4000 × 4000 px or higher.
- Use a transparent background (PNG, SVG) or a pure black background for areas that should not be projected.
- For best results, design the artwork at 1:1 proportion of the projected area.
- Black/dark areas = no light through the gobo. White/light areas = light passes through.
💡 Heavy files (over 25 MB) or layered Illustrator files: the form will still let you proceed without the upload — just send the artwork separately by email to sales@maxiledlighting.com referencing your project name.
Step 05 Send your brief
Optionally add a note, then send the brief — together with your artwork — directly to our team. You can also download a copy of the data file for your records.
Optional note for our team
⚠️ Please select a scenario (Step 02) before sending the brief.
